Liberations are movements of the Moon, which include an east-west wobble and a north-south rocking. Lunar liberations allow us to see an extra 9% of the Moon’s view from Earth. We only ever see one side of the Moon from Earth, but liberations mean our view of the Moon’s surface can be up to 59% of the total Moon surface.
