Parabolic (def.): meaning like a parabola, which is a mathematical term for a plane curve. It can describe a type of mirror and in astronomy, it describes a type of concave mirror used in a Cassegrain telescope. A parabolic mirror brings the rays of light to perfect focus and as such performs better than a spherical concave mirror. The concept is better described visually.
