eclipse

Eclipse (def): Where light from one celestial body is obscured by the crossing of another between either it and you (the observer) or it and the source of illumination. Solar eclipse is where the Moon passes in front of the Sun and can be partial, total, or annular. Annular eclipse is a solar eclipse that results in a ring of sunlight at the peak as the Moon passes directly in front of the Sun. This is because the Moon is too far away to cover the Sun completely.
